NINETYGO launches ‘Coffee’ suitcase made with recycled materials from Covestro
German materials manufacturer Covestro and NINETYGO have announced the global launch of the Chinese luggage brand’s new R-GO “Coffee Journey” Series suitcase, made with polycarbonate containing up to 90 percent post-consumer recycled (PCR) content from Covestro. The product debuted at Covestro’s booth at CHINAPLAS 2026, the international plastics and rubber exhibition, on Earth Day.

Solvent-based Recycling
Teijin is developing a solvent-based recycling process as a new technology for the recycling of polycarbonate resin. This process enables the regeneration of polymers to virgin-comparable quality by dissolving and purifying them with solvents, even from post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials that contain impurities, which have been difficult to handle with conventional mechanical recycling.
